If electing members is mostly pointless, why is it more productive to only elect members who are active? My position is that you're right, it's mostly pointless if you don't want to join the editors or participate in occasional decision making, so we might as well add a few more people to encourage them to help out more. Lots of people become members because they want to start helping out at the XSF (whether they do or not is an entirely different matter). They don't realize that they don't need to become a member, but if we were to tell them that and then not elect them, we risk leaving a bitter taste in their mouth. We don't want peoples first experiences at the XSF to be a bad one. —Sam _______________________________________________ Standards mailing list Info: https://mail.jabber.org/mailman/listinfo/standards Unsubscribe: [email protected] _______________________________________________
