Hi Sam, I'm totally opposed to deprecate a spec because of bugged implementation. XHTML-IM is a reduced subset of XHTML, and script shoud be rejected, if a client developer choose to not filter it, it's an implementation issue, not spec. On the other hand we use it a lot, it's doing the job, and adapted to XMPP (being XML). If we change, we'll run for a few years of incompatibilities for something working at the moment. And we also use it for blogging (XEP-0277, even if in practice we don't follow XEP recommandation there and accept larger subset of XHTML), removing it would be a really bad thing for us. So I'm opposed to deprecation, but we may make security recommandation more obvious.
