The primary purpose of the (unwritten) rule that examples are

non-normative is that broken examples cannot become or seen as correct
behaviour as of the specification. Your suggestion would add another

case to the rule and explicitly encourage broken examples. I fail to
see
why we would want to do that.
I think examples should not omit required elements, such as 'id'
attribute of
iq stanzas, 'disco#info' feature in 'disco#info' responses and so on.
If such
an element is omitted, it must be replaced with `...` or something.
