New Council Time! 1) Roll Call Present: Daniel, Jonas, Travis, Georg Delayed: Larma 2) Welcome Jonas welcomes Travis (moparisthebest) and Larma as fresh faces to Council. 3) Chair Election Council is required to have a chairperson to act as head of the committee, and to prepare an agenda for meetings and to lead them; the Chair should also ensure a replacement in cases of expected absence. Jonas asks for volunteers - Daniel says that Jonas did an excellent job for the previous term and would happily vote for him should he volunteer again, but will step forward himself if not - Jonas would prefer less responsibility this term. Travis and Georg compliment Jonas's exceptional management - Jonas graciously accepts the praise. Georg wishes he could spare the time and commitment, but is too familiar with reality. With a lack of other volunteers, and in true democratic style, everybody votes for Daniel as the one and only option - Daniel humbly accepts the honour. Jonas is happy to aid in a peaceful transition where needed, and offers to continue chairing this meeting as Daniel is likely unprepared - Daniel approves. 4) Board Liaison Jonas notes that someone should act as liaison with Board, which includes being subscribed to their mailing list and attending their meetings - Jonas is happy to continue in this role, but will step aside should anybody else want it - Daniel could take over this task as well, but is happy to leave it with Jonas. Everyone votes for Jonas. 5) Meeting Schedule Jonas is happy with the current slot (Wednesdays, 1600 UTC; following European DST) and checks that still works for everyone else - there are no objections. [Date of next: 2021-12-08 1600 UTC] 6) AOB Jonas will poke iTeam regarding room affiliations; has sent an email to the Council mailing list - everyone should check they receive it, and complain (to iTeam) if there are problems. Jonas recommends that Daniel arrange a new Spreadsheet of Doom. Kev notes that Board Liaison was originally the Council Chair, not a selected person, but doubts anyone cares too much.
