With an 18" cable, you are going to be stuffing the extra into the 
case.   I ended up having a lot of the cable stuffed into the middle 
part of the 3 1/2" bay area (no built in zip drive, so there is a 
hole).  Make sure you buy an ATA-66 rated cable, as this will avoid a 
problem with the SM.   Also, the SM has 2 IDE channels (plugs) on the 
motherboard and each one can ony have 1 device on the cable, and it 
must be the master device.   This is a limit of the ROM built into 
the SM.
