StarMax use standard PC100 SDRAM 3.3v 168pin ECC Non-Party Unbuffered. Which is the same as normal PC RAM. 2x64mb slots 1,2 1x32mb Slot 3.
It’s the UMAX machines which used the first generation PC100 SDRAMS which where 5v and buffered. They have a notch in the appropriate place so you cannot put the wrong type of memory in them. You can fix a maximum of 2x64mb either EDO or FPM in C500 and C600 machines or as they are know in the UK APUS2000 and UMAX Pulsar. Does anyone know where you would purchase 5v Buffered 168pin EDO or FPM memory 64mb suitable for a UMAX machine? Kingston? Craig, Thanks for the tip. But because I bought this computer as a used trade-in, I didn't get any printed matter with it and I could also use some tips about RAM. My old PowerComputing machine used 5v 60ns 168-pin EDO. Would that be similar to what I need now? And I assume there's an upper limit on RAM?
