Just had my external zip drive become "invisible"

or more exactly- the system won't boot if the zip is attached and powered-
all I get is a frozen, grey screen- if I restart w/ the zip unpowered, all
is fine-

I have a sm 5000/225, w/ G3 card

after a few days of tech support, trying everything I can think of, etc,

The "consensus" seems to be that the db-25 connector card has died.
(on one side it has the female external db-25 plug, and on the inside is the
50 pin scsi cable connector- both are attached to a small circuit board)

All my internal scsi devices work fine on the same cable, (which plugs into
the motherboard)-

any thoughts on this one.....

thanks-

Jim C
