The G3 is very nice, but a decent video acceleration card has much more
bang for the buck.

Grab one of the cheap 20 GB Maxtors from Compusa, many of these are
actually Quantum Fireball LCT drives (Maxtor bought Quantum), and work VERY
nicely in a Starmax. There really is no good reason to keep the old drive,
just transfer everything over to the new drive and pass the old one on to
somebody less fortunate. If you just have to keep it, you must have a SCSI
CD instead of a IDE unit, since the Starmax only supports one IDE device
per channel. Given the price of a SCSI vs IDE CD unit, it makes keeping the
old drive a bit pricey.
