If you are comfortable paying $125 for the board and service, good for you and
it will be over and done with.
Others here may have their personal favorite suppliers. I have gone with OWC
for all the RAM I put in my SM 3000.
Here is what you want, I don't think you can beat the price, I had no trouble
with anything I got from them and they are very reputable:

Don't pay someone to do it, it's too easy. Take note of the dual and single
bank slots. Zap PRAM and check under the Apple or Apple System Profiler to
make sure everything is ok.
They also have hard drives for under $60.

Did I see a suggestion that a virus from the web ruined a motherboard? That
would be (absurd), even if it was a Mac virus which is highly unlikely in the
first place.
