Well,
Momentarily, I figured I'd be back to "lurking" on the List.
But, as I was reading through the daily digest, I saw the question
about upgrading to from OS 8 to 9. It was exactly what I was doing
over last evening. I went to the Apple site to get the upgrade freom
OS 8 to 9.1 and then 9.2.1. The upgrade to 9.1 was uneventful but
trying to go the final step to 9.2.1 was unsuccessful. I kept
getting the error message that this version could not operate on this
machine, check your documentation......kind of odd since the previous
upgrade installed without incident. Anyone have any suggestions?
As I mentioned earlier, this "gift machine" is replacing a
6600 Mac from a few years ago. He'll be going from 66mzh to 200mzh so
it's not essential that this upgrade be installed. I was just trying
to get his machine up as far as possible before I give it to him.
I'd appreciate any answers anyone may have on this question
but will be satisfied with 9.1 if no one has any suggestions. I'm
still trying to figure out why it won't print after following all the
appropriate procedures. Oh well, the usual setting up process never
goes without a hitch......;-)
