This reminds me of a time back when I was installing an internal SCSI HD drive in an old Mac (IIci). It turned out to be that the drive was not terminated in that computer, so I borrowed the pluggable terminator from my S'Max Zip drive and installed it to the external IIci's SCSI connector. I went from seeing the drive on the desktop intermittantly to showing the drive consistently. This doesn't explain why your CD used to work and now doesn't, other than maybe you've lost some of the internal SCSI termination capability. The fact that when you add your terminated Zip drive to the chain you an consistently see the CD seems to support this theory.
Just a thought.... You know how flaky SCSI chains can be. Jim --- In [EMAIL PROTECTED], "nikeaa" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: When I boot my StarMax 4000 MT, it won't recognize the CD Drive. It was recognizing it, but now it won't. It shows correctly in system profile, but when I put Cds in it they don't come up on the desktop. It is a SCSI drive, connected to the internal SCSI connector then chained to an external port. When I connect my Zip drive to the external port it works fine. What is going on?
