A stout Voodoo3 with 16 megs of VRAM seems to be one of the best. It's
likely to be all you'd ever be able to use anyway, as any games wanting
a better vid card would likely also want a faster processor.

They're cheap, too.

A Voodoo5 would be another option, as would some of the Matrox
Millenniums, AFAIK.

Subject: Video Card Upgrade for Starmax 3000/160

Just joined and bought the Starmax for $20! Amazed at amount of info.
available on net, but still can't seem to find out specific things. I'm
a MAC newbie. Just installed OS 9.04.

All the info. sites mention I can upgrade to a 4mg Sgram. But no
brands, info., etc. What do I look for in the stores or online?
Looking at your old posts I see some of you have upgraded with PCI
cards. Except for a 32mg Radeon card (mac edition), I don't see any
cards with Mac drivers. Is there a list or something that tells me what
cards I can use in the Starmax? What is the Maximum meg card I should
get, before I'm throwing money away? 32meg, 64meg, doubtful but 128meg?

Thanks in advance
Rob.
