Of course, you might have a better video card than the built-in chip that I use. What I do know is that Mozilla 1.1 is slow for me, and even in Windows, has been called a "processor whore" or something similar by a friend, so it's not just me. On a fast enough Mac, though, it is apparently very fast. I've used Netscape 6 (same thing, really) on a 1.4 GHz P4 and it was nice. [At this point, I hit Ctrl-S, switch to AIM, and shortly thereafter the OS locks up accessing a floppy disc. Disc are possessed! Evil! I turn Java off in iCab, just to avoid the length JVM load and music cut-out every time I hit a Java ad or site counter. JavaScript seems to work fine, though, and I've certainly ordered things online with it. The only real issue seems to be pages that insist you click Back to make changes - older versions of iCab wiped the form (and left parts of it in a mess), but the latest versions seem to almost cope - you should still be wary of it getting a new copy from the server when you click back. It does take some tweaking, but then, it's not a browser designed for simplicity, it seems :) I really don't know the ideal browser for StarMaxen - Mozilla looks like a really nice compromise between iCab and IE, but the speed is what stops me from using it (oh, and my die-hard iCab loyalty :) - Daniel. -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:starmax@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:starmax-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:starmax-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lowendmac.com> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Macintosh?
