Good suggestions from the other George on this. The "Mac OS Purge: app
sounds like might be useful if persistent problem but where do you get it?
I've had this happen occasionally when I have been web-surfing heavily (use
Netsape 4.78 almost exclusively) while also using other apps, even though I
still have plenty of memory available. Once you get that warning, turning
off more apps doesnt do any good. Only thing that fixes it is restarting for
me. I have max ram on the SMax (160 mb) and dont use Virtual Memory. I
havent gotten freezes per se but no apps will run so amounts to the same
thing. I dont have it happen very often though, so can't say what I might
have done to decrease it. My theory is that the web browser is somehow
grabbing it all, even though the "about this computer" doesnt show it using
that much.
