I've read it's the 603-based models that have the biggest hurdles to 
overcome. The 604-based Macs and clones, however, (either that came 
that way or were upgraded [say, a 7500/200]) have an easier time. 
xPostFacto's author Ryan Rempel says OS X 10-10.1 will install on a 604 
--- no G upgrade necessary beyond of course your sanity. Don't know if 
he's been able to get Jaguar to install on a 604 (nor 601) without a G 
upgrade however.

Is there hope? Maybe. Rempel is, or was, working on another class of 
603-based Mac, the 2400/3400. If that ever gets ironed out the 
Tanzanias may be next.
