I have an HP DeskWriter on my StarMax. It is ancient in computer terms, I
think we got it in 1992. It was originally on my LCII and I switched it to
the SM. It has been a workhorse, but it's finally having some problems; it
doesn't feed sheets correctly, the rollers don't pick up the paper. I've
cleaned it and fiddled some, but it doesn't seem to help. I'm bummed, it's
been such a great printer. Black ink only, of course. I don't know how
long the DeskWriter line continued, how new a one could be found.

I think you can get parallel to serial adapter cables. In fact, my printer
may have one, it may have been boxed for a PC. The HP website used to have
free downloadable driver files, I haven't been to check recently, though I
should since I have a HP 660C in the basement someone gave me that wants a
power supply.
