8.2.2...? Hm, I have never heard of 8.2.2 (neither has Google it seems) - I thought it went 8.1 and then 8.5? > Will the machine take 8.6 or 9.1, any down side if so?? Yes, definitely. The only down side of course is that newer versions use up more RAM and run more slowly. When I moved from 8.5.1 to 9.0.4, there was a bit of a speed drop, and nothing feels as fast as 7.6 used to. However, it's still fast enough in the end. I'm presently running 9.1 on a 4000/200 successfully. And yes, you do need 8.6 for USB, and 9.1 for FireWire sounds about right too (plus, you get a Window menu in the 9 Finder, whee!) - Dan. -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
