I have the same burner and I think the same IDE drive, but I'm running 8.6. I use Toast 4.1.3 and use the Toast CD reader and the Apple CD/DVD extension for audio and burning. For any other type of disc usage, I use the IDE drive, and the Apple CD extension from OS 7.6. Don't have them both turned on at the same time, and don't have any of those disc burner extensions anywhere near your operating system. Just my opinion though.

What CD Drivers do the SM folks use with SCSI CD ROMs? I have a Yahaha SCSI
8824 CDRW and a Matashita IDE DVD ROM drive. I can read music CDs on the
CDRW but not data CDs and the DVD doesn't seem to want to read anything
except DVDs. I had a hard dsik crash and put in a new hard disk and
reinstalled the OS (9.1) and I thought everything I needed but something
must have got left out. Rest of info: SM 4000MT W/G3, 160 RAM, OS 9.1.
