I am a long time user of a 5500/200 SM. When it couldn't handle the photo and movie things I wanted it to do, I got a G4 Power Max. I wanted to be able to merge different movies and movie trailers together with QT Pro.

I have been using trailers from the Internet to experiment with QT Pro. I can download them from the internet in to a file "QT Movie". I then have to "Export" them from their current location on my HD to a new location, to be able to use the full merge capabilities of QT Pro. When I do this I lose the sound track but the video track comes through fine.

I have tried to search through all of Apple's and QT's Help files to find my problem to no avail. Also, as near as I can find out, Apple does not offer a question board such as you folks. After years of reading you guys' letters I know you are experts and hopefully, one of you are familiar with Quick Time.

I am running MacOS 10.2.8, with QT Pro, Netscape 7.1. I can download a movie trailer from the Internet, including the video and audio to a folder on my HD. To use the QT Pro capabilities I then need to "Export" the file to another folder on my HD. Doing this causes me to lose the audio file. What am I doing wrong??? Help, please!

I think I used to be able to do this with my old StarMax without problems except for drumming my nails on the desktop waiting for my old buddy to quit cranking.
