I am no expert however, I have been through this many times as I changed up OS's as the new one came along up to 8. Something, then I did the leap to 9.1! In the early day I had nightmare hair pulling times cos I could not figure out why my cd has kinda stopped. Eventually twigging the original driver on the original 'Max disk. That is all it is. Don't know if you could get the driver on line. Motorola were extremely helpful to me when I needed to ask questions. Third party CD not Apple! You may have seen recently when I asked about swapping the actual drive for others that it seem perfectly possible. I also have just under the top on RAM, can get one more stick in, probably will never bother. She is quite fast anyway, not as fast as a Duel 5 Mac, yet I don't need plumbing either!
