Were you trying an "easy install" or a "clean install"?
You'd need to do a "clean install" because you are trying to go backwards from
8.1 to OS 7.x.
Use "Drive Setup" in the Installer windows Utilities folder to update the
driver.
BUT. . .
I would go with OS 8.6 if I were you.
You could go to 9.0.4 or 9.1 later but it may run a little slower than 8.6.
You'll love 8.6 anyway (very stable) and it is so close to 9 that you will be
learning classic anyway.

Same thing; not important.

Not.

Covered "that" above with 8.6.
