Jay,
My suggestion is for you to go to Sky and Telescope Magazine or get an Orion
catolog ard read up on various telescopes. If your interest is planets and
big things in the sky you need one kind, if your interest is deep sky
objects you need a bigger scope. The Orion catalog is a good guide to
unbiased neutual sources of information. Good Luck
