There was an e-mail exchange about this some time ago. See the thread archive here: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.science.astronomy.stellarium.devel/424 Basically, there are at least two branches making changes to the DSO system, one belongs to Thomas, one to another guy who we don't know.
