Dear fellow developers,

Some bug reports indicate that Macs initialize their OpenGL differently
and report only OpenGL 2.1 / GLSL 1.20 support on startup, which may
lead to a crash in the planet shaders later. Some Apple websites/product
lists indicate they should provide 3.3 or more throughout.

In the socis2015 branch, I have (for other reasons) added a command line
switch --compat33 (short: -C) to suggest initializing an OpenGL 3.3
compatibility context. (This does not force anything. The driver may
still do something else, like delivering a 4.5 compat. context.)

If you have a Mac which usually reports OpenGL2.1, can you please test
this and report if it helps? If yes, should this be an unconditional
initialisation for all Macs?

Thanks,
Georg
