Hi Georg, I don't have a Mac to test on. The only problem I have on the PC is
under Windows 7. Every once in a while when I start up Stellarium it will ask
for a CD. I click cancel twice and then it will boot up and that's it. Then it
will check for updates and everything runs perfectly. I will be getting a Mac
here shortly and will run the test and get back to you. Take care. Tom Sweitzer

 Dear fellow developers,

Some bug reports indicate that Macs initialize their OpenGL differently
and report only OpenGL 2.1 / GLSL 1.20 support on startup, which may
lead to a crash in the planet shaders later. Some Apple websites/product
lists indicate they should provide 3.3 or more throughout.

In the socis2015 branch, I have (for other reasons) added a command line
switch --compat33 (short: -C) to suggest initializing an OpenGL 3.3
compatibility context. (This does not force anything. The driver may
still do something else, like delivering a 4.5 compat. context.)

If you have a Mac which usually reports OpenGL2.1, can you please test
this and report if it helps? If yes, should this be an unconditional
initialisation for all Macs?

Thanks,
Georg
