Thanks all for the help and info.

I've had the intention of getting this patch to you, but a combination of
procrastination and a swamped schedule has stopped me...
I'll be travelling during the coming week but after that I will have time
to get to it.

I'd really like to get this patch sent, in order to get started and
hopefully contribute more in the future. Unless you feel that this is
something you want to add *now*, I hope it's OK to wait for me!
