Hi Tracy.
I know nothing about Utah oolitic limestone, but I can refer you to another
oolitic limestone source ........ Victor Oolitic Stone in Bloomington,
Indiana, ph: 812-824-2621; Fax: 812-824-6769;
website: http://www.kiva.net/~victor/
Regarding "portland stone", I've never heard of this, but there is a
"Portland Brownstone Company" in Cheshire, Conn., ph: 203-250-1502; Fax:
203-250-1502
Can you tell me what "portland stone" is? Is this limestone used to make
portland cement? If so, and if you are interested in a Canadian source,
you can contact LaFarge, Kingston Ontario, 613-352-7711.
Another reference in Indiana: Hoadley Quarriers (one of the largest); ph:
812-332-1447; Fax: 812-332-6085; Email: bghq [AT] msn.com
Let me know if these referrals are of any help to you.
Respectfully,
Steve Barnes, AScT, President
ONTARIO STONE QUARRIERS ASSOCIATION
