Hi Susan. I use a bandsaw with a woodworking blade on it to cut both
soapstone and alabaster (talc). I have also used a tablesaw, and
diamond saw (boy was that an overkill) and a sawsall with a regular
blade on it. I have found the large the teeth on the saw, the better it
works. I have an old 2 man lumberjack saw that does a great job with
the piece that are too large for the bandsaw.
I fnd that the soapstone cuts easier on the bandsaw than most hardwoods.
