Hi Paul,

I suggest we get a solaris zone set up for the Java and PHP stuff. If you can ask on infra@ for that that'll be a start. Usually that's like an automatic thing IIRC .. ask and you shall receive.

My preference is for Kamal to arrange a Windows Server license and get that going in ASF. It will take time but let's get that started! There are a bunch of projects (esp. non-Java stuff) that can benefit from having a Windows server environment to test on.

Chamith- I suggest you join [email protected] as well.

I think we should organize to get the infrastructure running on some
external servers first and then look to migrate to Apache hosted
runtime.
There are two reasons:

1. I think it will place less burden on the infra team that way as we
will have the system up and running.
2. While Apache does have MSDN licenses it can use to do this, I think
it will be a change to the current model to have Windows servers
running under Apache's aegis. I assume it will mean new machines
needing to be installed, so I think it would be good to have a clear
idea of exactly what is required, what pre-reqs etc before we require
this.

I will bring this up on infrastructure@ and start the discussion there.

Hi - As a person who's involved in the infrastructure related work, I
would like to help to carry on this process, if someone can help me to
figure out the current infrastructure facilities we have in Apache or
any other place.

Thanks,

I think this was discussed in the very beginning, but I would again like to
explore the possibility of hosting service end-points for all Stonehenge apps
on some Apache servers.

Does Apache have such services available?
What are the requirements to use them?
What will be the SLA's to keep them up and running?
Other logistical questions?

If we can get these up and running, I think it will really showcase
transparency, enhance interop scenarios and testing etc.
