This may not directly answer the question about "What is the purpose of:"...
I believe you can ignore them until you need to interop with the dotnet.
Those 'config' scripts are used by the MSDN StockTrader setup MSI.
I have pretty much ignored them. There was a config service in the MSDN version that was NOT contributed.
I will be looking at the detail and see if they are needed in the next few days.
I remember seeing documentation on the config service when I first looked at MS
docs a year ago. The docs concentrated more on the config service than the
actual services themselves.
You can use the MSI from the StockTrader at the Microsoft site (if you want ) to setup the Database . At this point I am not sure it has the last three tables I need to interop the WSF/PHP stack with the dotnet stack.
But I am personally working that issue.
