I'll definitely keep in mind what areas need to be pushed to the
limits and give some indication during the updates.
I need to work on pushing the FC target mode a little more
internally. When I created the architecture for the target having FC
support in the daemon was on my mind. I deliberately called the CLI
iscsitadm because I wasn't sure what a CLI for both iSCSI and FC
would look like (it may need to be more than one CLI). To avoid
issues of backwards compatibility I didn't want to use the name
tgtadm and then possible change command line options which is difficult.
I'll add the SMI-S provider to the list. That's one which I'll
probably need some help on. I've got no real experience in the SMI-S
realm.

I've updated the main iSCSI Target page on OpenSolaris with this
exact same information. I'm going to try[1] to put a status blurb
there every week. This will consist of the date of the entry and
what's been done during the week. This will not be a tome of
minute by minute activity during the week. It'll hopefully give
you enough detail without being burden some. If something peeks
your interest feel free to drop me a note.
Please be sure to let the community here know if there's an aspect
you really need to have tested and put through the wringer. My
trigger finger is twitching over my iozone and filebench scripts.
thanks for your work on this and I'm /really/ happy to see FC
target is at least on the radar :)
BTW, with features like you mentioned, I wonder; should a SMI-S
provider be a reasonable idea to mull over?
