Hello,
I recently substituted an LTO2 Ultrium tape library with a new LTO3, on a v20.

With the old device, I had to configure the sgen.conf to enable the changer
device to be operated with mtx and bacula.

Now, on reboot with the new device (with the /reconfigure), I found that the
changer device (/dev/scsi/changer/c4t5d0) was still there, but a dead link.
So I ran "devfsadm -C" and the device disappeared.
Then I changed the sgen.conf to reflect as close as possible my configuration:

device-type-config-list="changer";
inquiry-config-list = "CERTANCE", "ULTRIUM 3";
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=6 lun=0;

but no changer device is appearing.
What am I missing? Do i need to configure the dirver_aliases too? how?

Hi Gabriele,
You have listed the tape drive rather than the changer device in sgen.conf.

This won't work :(

Check the output of "cfgadm -lav -o show_SCSI_dev" and look for the
changer device entry. Then find that device in your prtconf -v output and
replace the "CERTANCE", "ULTRIUM 3" above with the correct details.
Then run update_drv on the sgen driver.
