Hi Eric,

Try running savecore ASAP. I don't know why you didn't get a dump (and that in itself should be investigated), but if the dump is still in the paging area it may be retrievable. (it depends on how much demand there has been from VM subsystem). You could also try a "savecore -d" if that doesn't work. This becomes a longshot and will try getting a dump that may or may not be valid.

Cheers,
Greg

I looked based on the information provided, and I have an idea of what may have happened. A quick search did not turn up any open bugs against a similar issue.

I'm all ears. :) Even if it's just a hunch, that could influence further investigation here.

Unfortunately, without a core file or a repeatable process, it will be difficult to determine root cause.

For my own sanity (and maybe my job), I hope it's not repeatable. ;) I am definitely bummed that I didn't get a crash dump. That's the first thing I looked for when the box came back.

In the meantime, if you happen to still have the messages file from when this occurred, please send it to me.

What I pasted in my original message was everything from the beginning of the current messages file to the reboot. If you want the subsequent stuff, I'll need to prune out any sensitive lines, but I can send you the balance in a private mail if you like.

Eric
