That explains the timeouts you're seeing. As I stated in a previous
note UFS has extremely poor performance when it comes to large files.
Is it possible for you to use ZFS instead of UFS/SVM? If not, what
about SVM soft partitions, this would remove some of the flexibility
of having the backing store on a filesystem, and allow the daemon to
access the block devices without UFS.
