Given the lack of response, I'm assuming most people don't care, but I'll give 
an update as to what further testing exposed.  Setting up the same scenario on 
an x4100, everything worked fine.  I had originally believed it was probably a 
resource issue/IRQ assignment, but really had no way to tell since the system 
hard lock(ed).  The motherboard I was testing with was a Tyan S5350.  Moving 
one of the two cards off the 64bit/66mhz slot down into a 32bit/33mhz slot 
"solved" the issue, though I use that term loosely since one of the cards is 
essentially running half speed (or slower).

Needless to say, that's my update.  If anyone on the Sun team wants to 
investigate further/work with me, please let me know.  Or better yet, if anyone 
from Tyan works these boards, that seems to be where the real issue lies at 
this point.
