I recently putback a fix for ESX, but unfortunately it will not be
available to the opensolaris community until build 60.
It's worrisome though that your targets are disappearing. The problem
that I saw and fixed was that ESX's initiator would issue a
REPORT_LUNS, but then ignore the data and issue an INQUIRY command
for LUNs 0 through 255. Due to a bug which I introduced the target
would return success instead of a CHECK CONDITION on LUNs 1 through
255 which caused ESX to get confused. I never saw a condition where
the targets would disappear. Could you do the following?
(1) Reproduce the problem where the target information disappears.
(2) Send me the contents of /etc/iscsi/target_config.xml
(3) cd to the location which you gave to 'iscsitadm modify admin -d
<dir>'
(4) send me the output of ls -l
(5) send me the contents of config.xml in that directory.
Nothing should cause the targets to disappear. Even if the daemon
crashes for some reason the configuration should remain and be
reloaded when SMF restarts the daemon.
