I'm with James on this one... I really don't see the point, and I see this as something of a slippery slope. I don't think one should be using a filesystem to manage these kinds of attributes. I abhor the linuxism of "oh, I want to change foo, so i'll "echo 1 > /proc/bar/baz/foo" (I recall having to do that for NAT or something many years ago.
