I think if you looking for better storage manangement tools on Solaris instead of mimic'ing Linuxs crappy proc system you should look at AIX(SMIT[ty]) or HP(SAM). They have much better tools for system administrators than Linux.
If you're just looking for management interfaces (APIs) on Solaris. Personally, I would love to see a fully populated CIMOM on Solaris with a scriptable interface. (Yes, I know Sun has been down this road multiple times. Although you guys drove the standard on it!) A comparison to a CIMOM would be WMI on Windows, which Rocks! Its got GUIs, APIs, scriptable and lets you do much more than proc in a more managed way. Sure...They didn't match the CIM standard correctly but its fairly complete and works.
