Not really, the problem is the active-standby nature of asymmetric
arrays (Sun 6140).  Rather than having both controllers accepting IOs,
one controller accepts IOs (active) while the other sits idle (standby).


However, as a result of a suggestion on this maillist, I connected both
HBAs to a single controller and got IOs from both HBAs accepted by a
single controller with subsequent performance boost.

The EquaLogic that I mentioned in my initial inquiry on this maillist
was symmetric (active-active).

It looks like you only have one active path to the storage which is
correct if you've only direct connected to the array. I'm going to guess
that when you tested with Linux you used more then one LUN.
