Hi Rick, [Indiana-discuss folks, original thread at http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/storage-discuss/2007-October/thread.html#3510 ]
How much of this exists now, how quickly can it be opened up, and it would it be appropriate for single-user systems (particularly laptops!) We're looking for a backup manager for ZFS filesystems in Project Indiana, and so far are looking at something simple like: http://blogs.sun.com/timf/entry/zfs_automatic_backup_0_1 - it's not enterprise ready, and targets a very particular audience, but if you had something more complete already working (which needs to be extremely simple for a novice to administer), and were able to get this released quickly, then it could be just the thing we're looking for, and would prevent further wheel reinvention. Can you send on more details to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ? cheers, tim > Attached is a proposal for ADM (Automatic Data > Migration).
