Hello Ken, I've read different things about ha-iscsi. First HA-iSCSI is not ready yet. On ha-clusters forum it's said they are working on it. I've read that HA-ZFS consist in making zfs import/export of the file system so I tested it. zfs import makes 6 minutes to come with 100 volumes. There are 2 things in these 6 minutes: - during 30 seconds the system looks for devices that are in the zfs, it's done one after one another. It can be done in parallel but it's not the longest thing here. - during 5 minutes the system alloc the volumes one after another. That's the point that should be faster.
With 200 volumes, it takes 15 minutes. With a dtrace I found there are long time spend for each time devfsadm is called to add a volume (device). I'm trying to go deeper there but for me zfs import function is not optimised for volumes.
