Nigel Actually I did not watch for a dumping /usr/sbin/iscsitgtd. Therefore I did another round and attached truss to it. I observed that in fact /usr/sbin/iscsitgtd is dumping core - but it gets restarted immediately by smf.
Btw. I used Tom Albers documentation to make sure everything is set up correctly. I also added portal groups to make sure iscsi is using the right interfaces. The behavior remained the same. If I find the time, next week I'll check on x86 on Nevada and with UFS backing store.
