Thanks Afshin,
but I've done every step in both those sets of docs for enabling
workgroup mode - it worked *just fine* with snv_77, and doesn't
work at all with snv_81.

I've also - just now - deleted my idmap entry and restarted the
idmap and smb/server services. Now I can see my Solaris host
_but_ the Windows Explorer browser only admits to seeing printers.
I'm not exporting any printer settings and I don't think smb/server
supports printers right now anyway.

When I try mapping a network drive using "GEDANKEN\jmcp", (where
"GEDANKEN" is my Vista box) I see these messages:

Feb 8 09:28:54 farnarkle smbsrv: [ID 138215 kern.notice] NOTICE:
smbd[gedanken\JMCP]: access denied
Feb 8 09:28:54 farnarkle last message repeated 1 time
Feb 8 09:29:27 farnarkle smbsrv: [ID 138215 kern.notice] NOTICE:
smbd[GEDANKEN\JMCP]: home access denied
Feb 8 09:29:59 farnarkle smbsrv: [ID 138215 kern.notice] NOTICE:
smbd[gedanken\JMCP]: home access denied

And trying my XP box "DOPPIO" I see

Feb 8 09:36:43 farnarkle smbsrv: [ID 138215 kern.notice] NOTICE:
smbd[DOPPIO\jmcp]: homes access denied
Feb 8 09:37:15 farnarkle smbsrv: [ID 138215 kern.notice] NOTICE:
smbd[DOPPIO\jmcp]: home access denied

What should I be looking at to figure out what's going wrong?
