As in a third-party box doing the migration from A to B? DMM isn't that but does indeed migrate from vendor A to B. DMM's intent is to run on box B in this example for efficiency. We actually started with this third-party approach but the extra network write as well as the troubles of retargeting/remounting the interim namespace used to track the migration wasn't worth it. I think some of the third-party solutions tend to require that intermediary box to remain in place after the migration is complete. We want to migrate and get out of there as fast as possible.
