That's correct.

idmapd does not go out to find all entities that could need mapping.  It
works on demand.  And so far you've demanded no mappings, so there are
none.

You can use "idmap show -c <name>@<joined-domain>" to demand a mapping
and see what gets returned.

Normally all demands for such mappings would be done by the SMB server.
