I am experiencing 2 problems with the CIFS server on snv B84. This is with a
simple workgroup setup.
smbadm join -w workgroup
sharemgr create -P smb shared
sharemgr add-share -s /abyss/test -r test shared
sharemgr add-share -s /abyss/pool -r admin shared
sequence also redone from scratch on a separate retry to see if zfs cmdset
would make a diff
zfs set sharesmb=on abyss/pool
chmod 777 abyss
chmod A=everyone@:rwxpdDaARWcCos:fd:allow /abyss/pool
chmod A=everyone@:rwxpdDaARWcCos:fd:allow /abyss/test
passwd user
svcadm enable -r smb/server
Problem 1. The shares show up but their contents are no visible or browseable.
If I add a new file or folder it works but is invisible after creation.
Problem 2. The machine is not showing up in the browse neighborhood but is
browseable vi \\ip_address\
I think this is something zfs acl related because if I add a share on a non
zfs partition
sharemgr add-share -s /tmp -r tmp shared
the files and folders are visible this only seems to be happening with zfs
pools.
Is anyone else seeing this? This is happening with:
XP, 2000 -> B84 CIFS
even more weird behavior with tiger -> B84 CIFS
but in all of them the /tmp share behaves as expected.
