Yeah, it's a pain, but it sounds like the only option right now. Supermicro
have told me that while the SAT2 cards don't support error LED's, the USAS ones
do, so we can at least hope that you'll be able to illuminate that LED through
Solaris eventually.
The problem with documenting locations is knowing where it is when drives fail,
I'd be very tempted to buy some good stickers or a marker pen and actually
write the Solaris drive numbers somewhere inside the case next to each drive.
