I am wondering if there´s any news to the issue.. ? My intention is to build a ~ 8 Drives ZFS Bbox as well, but what I read here kinda scares me..
I ordered a Asus M2N, but because of only 4 onboard ports I am thinking to swap that for a M2N SLI Deluxe (as Simons suggests in his *great* blog). If the M2N has a different SATA chipset as the M2N-SLI Deluxe, and therefore does NOT have this issue discussed here, I would stick with it and go for a Supermicro 8-Port controller. But if the problem has been fixed meanwhile, or the M2N suffers from the same problem, I would reconsider.
