I hope this is the right place to post questions regarding the OpenSolaris distribution of the NDMP service. I have installed the SUNwndmp package (version 0.5.11-0.86) and am having problems configuring a Tivoli 5.5 machine to use the server. In Tivoli I am defining a datamover as such:
define datamover <name> type=nas hla=<IP> user=<user> password=<pass> dataformat=NDMPDump to which it complains that the "NDMP Server does not support Token Base Incremental Backup." I believe that Tivoli is looking for, and not finding, the "BASE_DATE" and/or "DUMP_DATE" environment variables in the CONFIG_GET_BUTYPE_INFO reply. I have configured the OpenSolaris NDMP server to use NDMP protocol v4 and generate debug logs and Wireshark traces if anyone is interested. The project website claims it has been tested against IBM Tivoli TSM 5.5, so I'm guessing that I am simply not configuring it (or ndmpd) correctly.
