I think iscsi boot is a very different issue independent of what is on the ISO image. It's not actually possible to install a system (easily) that is provisioned with iscsi. The installation process for OpenSolaris is really directed at systems with direct attached storage. There is a bunch of work being done to re-support things like jumpstart, but that is still a way off. In my experience if you want to support diskless workstations/servers you often have to do things very different than just an install to create the boot image.
